María was born and raised in Oaxaca, Mexico. She graduated from the Universidad Autónoma de México UNAM in Mexico City with a BA in English Language and Literature, and she specialized in translation.  She is fluent in Spanish and English. As a professional, she is hired for written and simultaneous translation by non-profit organizations. She also publishes her own writing in local and international media.

 

In her decade of experience working as a fixer and interpreter, she has had the opportunity to collaborate with renowned filmmakers, chefs, photographers and writers.
